From July 26th thru the 28th of 2018, The Texas Chiropractic College hosted its annual convention at Moody Gardens in Galveston.  We had a wonderful time being back in Galveston!  The weekend started on Thursday morning with the Dr. Stephen Haslund Golf Classic  (very early for those of us who drove in Wednesday night after work) at Moody Gardens Golf Course.  Simon Spine is proud to announce that Dr. Simon’s team took first place and Dr. Price’s team took third, we were very excited with our wins.   Thursday afternoon included a variety of speakers including Dr. Jake Harden, a former intern now Instagram Celebrity.  He came to town to talk about the “The Multi-Threshold Model:A Framework for Rehabilitation and Performance.”  Thursday evening was concluded with a fun reception and nothing better than dueling pianos.

Friday’s heavy hitting speakers included:

Dr. Tony Branker’s talk was a huge success with  “Cupping Dcoded: Practical Applications to Keep Your Patients Moving” (this talk needed to be moved to a bigger venue because of the number of attendees)

Dr. Jennifer Illes “Female Fitness Over the Decades”

Texas Chiropractic Association presented the New Doctor Seminar in which our own Dr. Simon participated in a panel that addressed a variety of student questions regarding getting into practice, student loan handling and how to set up a successful practice.

Michelle Quattlebaum giving the required board hours and discussing ethics and risk management.

Dr. Schwab and Dr Lisa Rister “Pilates Rehab Exercise”

Saturday included a great schedule of topics including Kinesiology Taping for Special Populations (sponsored by Rock Tape), Patient Centered Women’s Health and Medicare Hours.

The 110th celebration included the debut of the 1908 Society TCC’s new alumni group, as well as the the return of the Donor Lunch honoring benefactors and contributors to the TCC community over the last year.
